In general engineering and nursing are the highest paying professions for which graduate school is not required and in which you can make over $100,000 a year within ten years of earning the bachelor’s degree. All working physicians and about half of lawyers (sp.) earn more than that after ten years of practice. Of course physicians need four years of medical school and at least three years of lower-paid residency. Some specialties require another few years of a lower-paid fellowship before the start of independent practice.
